Full house in Musikverein Vienna
On 26 November 2013, Le Concert Olympique performed to a full house in the world-renowned Musikverein in Vienna.
It was a great honour for the orchestra and conductor Jan Caeyers to perform in the Großer Saal better known as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna. This was for many of the orchestra's musicians the first opportunity to perform in this historical hall, although for Jan Caeyers, it was just one of the many.
The hall was filled to the rafters, and Le Concert Olympique delivered an exceptionally engaging performance. Beethoven was of course centre stage in the programme:
Overture Egmont, op. 84
Concerto for piano in C minor, op. 37
Symphony nr. 4 in B-flat major, op. 60
The soloist was the Israeli pianist Boris Giltburg (1984), winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for piano.
