Beethoven's Piano Concerti
Beethoven’s piano concerti form, together with the symphonies, the heart of his orchestral repertory. After the successful March 2013 tour with famous Beethoven pianist Till Fellner, the idea to organise a communal Beethoven cycle, spread out over three productions and three concert seasons, began to grow.
This production begins with Concertos 1 and 3, allowing the tonally similar, yet simultaneously contrasting pieces (in C major and C minor) to confront one another. Soloist Till Fellner (born 1972 in Vienna) has played these two concertos in a brilliant way, both technically and musically.
